The F3TC Way
The mission of F3TC is to provide a fun, safe, positive environment where progress comes fast. Utilizing a method rooted in the knowledge, technique, and experience Michelle brings as well as her incorporation of drills, stations, and exercises athletes at any level can achieve success. Michelle’s philosophy of “perfection before progression” ensures that athletes are mastering skills before building on, laying a solid foundation for skills to develop. At F3TC, we believe every student should be treated fairly and given the chance to build their self-confidence and skill level in a space where they feel welcome and aren't just a number. Being flexible, strong and coordinated will benefit any sport and helps create a well-balanced athlete.
My name is Michelle Horner and I would like to tell you a little about myself, my coaching history and qualifications. I was born and raised in Baltimore and was introduced to gymnastics at an early age. I was a recreational gymnast from the ages of 2-8 followed by a competitive all around gymnast from the ages of 9-16. I competed levels 4-8 throughout the United States and Canada. During that time I won many titles and was also a member of a traveling tumbling/trampoline exhibition team. I performed in front of the Statue of Liberty, during half time for the Baltimore Blast, at colleges, fairs and festivals. My love for gymnastics wasn't only because of the physical but the mental and discipline. I began junior coaching at the age of 12. When I retired as a gymnast at the age of 16, I wasn't ready to leave the gym and or life style, so I concentrated my efforts on learning everything I could to become a coach.
Over the next few years I coached tiny tots, beginners, juniors, attended many coaches conferences, courses and got safety certified and level certified through the United States Gymnastics Federation. I became the director of Sokol Baltimore gymnastics 1992-1996, was an all around gymnastics coach for Baltimore county gymnastics and then became the creator and director of an after school gymnastics program at Gardenville Elementary school. While there, I incorporated gymnastics into the tiny tots preschool program at the school.
I was the director and head coach of White marsh gymnastics for seven years. During that time, my competitive teams won many titles. I was a coach at Viper Allstars for eight years. I coached tumbling for youth through senior teams at Harford Hurricanes. I coached all around gymnastics levels 1-6 in Puerto Vallarta Mexico, 2007-2011. Once returning home from living in Mexico, I opened GirleeGurlz, a retail store that specialized in makeover birthday parties, and special events 2011-2015. During that time, I also coached acro at E-Street dance academy, Rage Box and started coaching tumbling more geared toward cheerleaders through my new company Tumble with Michelle out of Lunar All-Stars. I was part of the Lunar all star and Viper all star merger which is where I've been up until December 2023. I also taught Acro at Raise the Barre September 2022- August 2023. During my years as Tumble with Michelle, I have run sessions, including classes, semi private lessons, private lessons and also offered very successful camps, day clinics and special events geared towards cheerleaders, gymnast, dancers, martial artists and or anyone that wanted to learn. My love for kids, the sport and making a difference is what drives me. I've been in the coaching industry for almost 38 years and been connected to the spots for almost my entire life. I wouldn't change a thing. It's who I am. It's what I do. It's what makes me happy and it's what I was meant to do. It's always been a dream of mine to have my own facility and that time has come.
